Light and Space

Lubenham Hill

We have submitted a planning application for a new two-storey rear extension for a house on Lubenham Hill, Market Harborough in Leicestershire. The extension replaces three separate existing extensions, which are inefficient and not cohesive in their design.

Light and Space

Light and Space

The new kitchen and dining room will utilise the mono pitch roofs to create a light and spacious interior. We propose to expose the structure and contrast the black timber with naturally treated timber on the soffit. A roof light over the dining room will make the dining room more pleasant but will also help light the existing lounge.

Sculptural Form

Sculptural Form

The proposed extension has developed as a coherent sculptural form that works with the existing house and the neighbouring property. Three different orientated mono-pitch roofs work together and provide visual interest while being practical in terms of drainage.

There are large opening doors to the dining room and double doors from the kitchen. A side window to the kitchen is maintained from the existing elevation.
